Pedestal : Pillars of History

Pedestal or columns or pillar; taking into consideration any small or large building, structure, monument; are the most important part. Basically, the main function of pillar is to give a support to the structure and sometimes for to enhance the design architecture of the structure. 

History tells us that most ancient structure using pillas found in Egyptian Architecture and then later in Persian Architecture. The use of columns mainly found in the Iron age civilisation. There were columns dedicated to victory in Rome called as Roman Victory Columns. Columns, in later ages, became insignificant as a structural element.
